Ready, Set, it's Back to School

Ready or not, it’s time to go back to school. Transitioning from summer to a new school year can be difficult for families.

Here are some tips for a smooth transition:
• Visit the pediatrician to be sure all immunizations are up to date
• Schedule an appointment with an eye doctor
• Stock up on school supplies
• Establish a routine for homework, meals, and bedtime
• Confirm transportation
• Meet the school staff and your child’s teacher
• Mark important school events on your calendar now
• Check the school menu ahead of time to see if your child will require packed lunch

Immunization Blog

August is National Immunization Awareness Month. Vaccines are not just for kids! Adult vaccinations can prevent serious diseases and even death. Vaccines can also help prevent the spread of disease though your family.

Adult vaccines can prevent the flu, shingles, diphtheria/tetanus, pertussis (whopping cough) and pneumococcal diseases.

Talk to your doctor about what immunizations you need.
